REACH is the European chemicals legislation and stands for Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals.
REACH came into force on 1 June 2007 and replaces the former European Union (EU) chemicals legislation. The main objectives of REACH are to ensure a high level of protection for human health and the environment. The legislator also wishes to promote alternative testing methods and to strengthen the EU’s capacity for innovation and competitiveness. DUBUIS fully supports these objectives.
Under REACH, the manufacturer and/or importer is more responsible than ever before for assessing the specific use-related risk of chemicals and providing users with relevant safety information. Here you will find information for a better understanding of the extended safety data sheets under REACH.
If hazardous substances are manufactured or imported in annual quantities of 10 tonnes or more, REACH requires not only the submission of technical data, but also a chemical safety assessment called CSA (Chemical Safety Assessment).
At DUBUIS, in order to preserve the health of our employees, we try to go beyond this evaluation requirement. We systematically carry out an evaluation of the risk linked to the use of each substance present on our site. To date, no less than 120 substances have been listed and evaluated using SEIRICH software.
